The HSLANJ Discussion Forum is managed by the New Jersey Hospital Association. It is a free, easy-to-use e-mail and blog alternative for communicating with HSLANJ and colleagues about questions, issues and concerns you are facing. 

Purposes.   The HSLANJ Discussion Forum is intended for use by librarians, information and healthcare professionals solely as a forum to discuss professional issues, announcements and concerns specific to members of HSLANJ.  It is NOT intended for commercial purposes, recruiting, advertising, pricing or private uses. The HSLANJ Discussion Forum is NOT intended to, and does NOT provide medical or legal advice.  Patients are urged to consult appropriate professionals before making any medical diagnoses or decisions.  The use of any information posted to the HSLANJ Discussion Forum will be at the user’s sole risk.

Messages in this listserv and blog are intended for the sole use of listserv participants and should not be copied or distributed electronically or by any other means via e-mail, blogs, discussion forums Web sites or other methods.

These questions should be directed to a local medical library or one of the sci.med newsgroups.

The HSLANJ Discussion Forum should not be used for announcements of conferences outside the field (or likely interest) of medical librarians/information professionals. Do not send announcements for conferences in medicine or nursing. Announcements from like organizations, such as SLA or its Chapters are welcome.

The HSLANJ Discussion Forum welcomes Jobs Available. Job postings for medical personnel (other than librarians/information professionals) are not appropriate.

The HSLANJ Discussion Forum is not for collecting mass or organized support for political and/or social causes. Advocacy postings appropriate to library and information issues are acceptable.

The HSLANJ Discussion Forum is NOT for posting warnings about virus, worm or hoaxes, rumors or similar posts. 

The HSLANJ Discussion Forum is not to be used for chain messages.

Always use a DESCRIPTIVE SUBJECT LINE. The more descriptive you are, the more likely the right people will read your posting.

Attachments ARE ALLOWED, in PDF or Word formats. Please try to keep the attachment file size under a megabyte.

Always give your postings a FULL SIGNATURE. Include your NAME, E-MAIL ADDRESS, TITLE and INSTITUTIONAL AFFILIATION.
